burning

Are you suffering from one or more of the following:

  • Exhaustion
  • Lack of Motivation
  • Frustration, Cynicism and Other Negative Emotions
  • Cognitive problems
  • Slipping Job Performance
  • Interpersonal Problems at Home and at Work
  • Not Taking Care of Yourself
  • Being Preoccupied With Work … When You’re Not at Work
  • Generally Decreased Satisfaction
  • Health Problems

If you answered yes to three or more then it is time to seriously address giving yourself a break.

Make a list of all the situations that cause you to feel stressed, anxious, worried, frustrated, and helpless. Next to each item on the inventory, write down at least one way to modify that situation and then begin implementing them into your day.

The burden of being an overachiever means that you do it better than anyone, or so your psyche says!  Rather than delegate or assign tasks or responsibilities, you would rather do it yourself!  And yes, while you are being Wonder Woman things are being accomplished, you are also on the track to BURN-OUT, kind of like a tire on a Formula 1 race car.  You need a pit stop and a tire change!

Work out a plan to take a break, whilst it may not be the right time….it will be an even worse time when you burn out completely.
